In a Rare Show of Unity, The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government and Opposition Parties-Including Jamiat Urvili-e-Islam (Jui-F), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)-Having Joined forces to Prevent Pakistan Tehreek-In-InsaF (PTI) Candidates from Securing Seats in the Senate Choice scheduled for July 21st.
The development is coming when several PTI -nominated refused to withdraw their candidates, fuel instructions from party leadership and elaborate on internal departments.
According to Express News, the PTI policy committee recently confirmed its agreement with opposition parties on the award of the Senate seat and instructed its nominees to withdraw their nomination papers. However, many aspirants rejected this decision and refused to resign.

A political committee meeting in the evening was members who defended the shortlist released by party founder Imran Khan. While recognizing Irfan Saleem’s long service to PTI, the committee stood on Khan’s final candidate list. Although some objections were raised over Mishael Yousafzai’s candidacy, she was approved by respect for the founder’s choice.
Despite supporting the compromise of the opposition, the committee failed to persuade to disagree candidates to retire and are now considering issuing messages to non-compatible nominees.
In response were dissatisfied candidates – including Irfan Saleem, Syed Irshad Hussain, Khurram Zeeshan, Aisha Bano and Waqas Orakzai – their own meeting. They unanimously rejected the committee’s instructions and promised to contest the Senate election.

Khurram Zeeshan released a video message that the question had surpassed a pure Senate competition. He criticized alliances with “illegitimate” persons named on form 47, and accused the party leadership of betraying Imran Khan’s principles.
“We stand at a crossroads: Resistance or compromise through political horse business,” he said, pledging steadfast resistance, declaring, “we are not doing politics; we are doing jihad.”
Irfan Saleem expressed concern about alleged cooperation with established supported figures during the KP senate voting and claimed that PTI members raise legitimacy from Imran Khan’s mandate and promised to postpone any attempts to compromise the party’s ideology.
Aisha Bano called the Senate seat the party’s honor and questioned that entrusting it to people accused of having tricked Imran Khan and PTI workers. “This is not just a choice; it’s the front of our movement,” she said.
Saleem added that he would consult party workers and colleagues before deciding to contest the election of the Senate. Despite the dissidents, an extended gap within PTI prior to the election in the upper house.

Following this development, both opposition and government benches in the KP assembly have devised a common strategy to ensure success for their 11 agreed candidates.
Sources revealed that special panels are formed to manage the voting process, with provincial ministers tasked with supervising four state panels. Legislators from the reigning party will be brought together in the Minister of Chief’s House and sent to the Assembly in groups under ministerial supervision to cast their votes.

On the opposition side, three panels are monitored by parliamentary leaders of their respective parties. Members of the seven total panels will be asked to vote separately for general, women and technocratic candidates to avoid confusion or crossover.
The whole process is jointly monitored by chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur and opposition leader Dr. IBadullah. Opposition candidates will also receive support from the government ranks with votes coordinated through mutual understanding.
In case of deviation, such as votes cast in favor of rebellion PTI candidates, both sides have agreed to start a thorough joint investigation to hold responsible legislators responsible.

Party Insiders confirmed that senior PTI leaders will be present in the assembly at the polling station to oversee the procedure, with the most important opposition persons who are also expected to participate.
Opposition sources expressed satisfaction with government commitment and events. “We are hopeful that no problems will arise and all 11 candidates will be chosen smoothly,” said a source.
It was also decided that any complaints or irregularities during the election process would immediately be reported to the minister of chief and the opposition leader to ensure timely action.
