Karachi:
Sindh -Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said he respects his teachers as much as he respects his parents because they shaped his future and allowed him to compete effectively in his field and emphasized that teachers must serve this kind of respect by giving their students proper education.
He said this while talking at the ceremony to award teaching licenses to successful candidates organized by the Sindh Education Department here at CM House on Tuesday.
The ceremony attended Minister of Education Syed Sardar Shah, Minister of Pets Mohammad Ali Malkan, Secretary (School Education) Zahid Abbasi, Diplomats, MPAs, Educationmen, Shahzad Raoi of the Zindagi Trust and members of civil society.
The Minister of Ministry urged all citizens to honor their teachers and satisfy their thirst for knowledge through reverence for these teachers and emphasized that such respect must be earned by providing quality education to students.
Shah remembered that the idea of three years ago was suggested the idea of issuing teaching licenses by Sardar Shah.
He mentioned, “It was said that licenses should be given to those who shape our future,” describes this initiative as an important step towards ensuring competence and accountability in the teaching subject.
During the ceremony, chief minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah assigned teaching licenses to 646 successful candidates, including 297 Jest and 195 Pre-Service Licenser.
He emphasized that only 646 out of 4,000 candidates passed the test, reflecting a low success rate of approx. 16 percent. He noticed, “We have a lot of work to do to improve the education standards.”
Murad Ali Shah confirmed the government’s obligation to introduce highly qualified teachers through Sindh Teacher Education Development Authority (Steda).
In addition, he raised concerns that millions of children were out of school and emphasized the need to assess the quality of the education delivered to those who are enrolled.
He asked, “How can we prepare children to live a good life in a competitive world?” By tackling the long -term decline in education quality pointed out Murad Shah: “The education system has gradually worsened over the past 40 or 50 years.”
He was reminiscent of a time when primary schools provided excellent education and noticed the difference in teacher appointments based on profits.

“Change is welcomed, but it is important that it is effective,” the minister emphasized. The Minister emphasized that the implementation of teaching licenses would bring significant improvements to the education system.
With reference to misunderstandings, he noted that some individuals believed that the licenses were related to weapons positions for teachers.
“Originally, we recruited teachers without licenses as driving schools were our priority,” he explained.
In the future, all newly recruited teachers will review training before they are issued licenses. Only licensed teachers are appointed in future recruits, he confirmed.
“Teaching should not only be seen as a job, but as a service and a responsibility,” emphasized Minister Sardar Shah.
