Tom Hanks takes care of the loss of NASA astronaut, James Lovell.
After the heartbreaking news of Lovell’s death at the age of 97 Thursday, via New York TimesHanks who played Lovell in the movie in 1995 Apollo 13paid tribute to the deceased astronaut by going to his Instagram account on Friday.
In the obituary post, the 69-year-old actor wrote a touching note that praised Lovell’s remarkable results.
“There are people who dare who dream and who lead others to the places we would not go on their own,” the Oscar-winning actor began.
“Jim Lovell, who for a long time had gone further out into space and for longer than any other person on our planet was that kind of guy,” he said of the NASA commander.
Hanks continued to say, “His many travels around the earth and on to so much close to the moon were not made into wealth or celebrity, but because such challenges as it is what burns the process of being in live and who better than Jim Lovell to make these travels.”
“This evening with a full moon he goes on – to heaven, to the cosmos, to the stars. God speed you, on this next journey, Jim Lovell,” he concluded.
It is relevant to mention that Lovell, also known as Jim, who was also the former Navy Test Pilot, took four space missions during his lifetime.
