- The patch notes to Monster Hunter Wilds Update 1,021 has been released
- The big update adds extended playoff content, high difficulty, 9-star monsters, arms changes and more
- Waste Director Yuya Tokuda has also apologized for the game’s poor performance and said that further improvements are on the way
Capcom has dropped the patch notes to Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Major 1,021 update along with a message from the wastage director that responds to concerns about the game’s performance.
Title Update 1,021 will arrive tomorrow August 13 /12 August at. 19.30 PT / 03:30 PM BST, and as the patch notes confirm, it will be about 3 GB on PS5, 2 GB on the Xbox series X and Xbox Series and 2 GB on Steam, but 6 GB with high resolution text pack installed.
As the previously announced Capcom Expansion of Endgame content, originally scheduled as part of the title update 3, has been performed and arrives with 1,021, which will include new high diffusion tasks and the appearance of 9-star tempered monsters in the field at HR 100 or higher.
These 9-star monsters include: Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Now Outside, Jin Dahaad, Gore Magala, Arkveld, Mizutsune, Lagiacrus, Seregios.
In addition, regular and temperate versions of Rey Dau and now are now erupting in the wounded hole at the HR 100 or higher, appearance speed monsters at HR 100 and higher have been adjusted, while the appearance of standard monsters has increased slightly.
Alongside the prominent features, adjustments for different weapons have been added. Capcom initially planned to adjust five weapons types in this patch, but decided to expand the scope of 11 total weapons types.
These changes apply to them such as Lance, Insect Glaive, Sword and Shield and Charging Sheet, which have had its raw damage to multi-hit attacks while in the power ax’s buffet.
A new glowing stone rating element has also been added as a reward for tasks with 9-star monsters and can be transformed into an assessed talisman with randomly assigned skills.

Update 1,021 follows the Title Update 2 that treated the Shader Compilation problem that had caused poor performance on the PC since the game’s launch.
Despite this, the game is still sitting at a “mostly negative” score on Steam, which is marginally better than its previously “overwhelming negative” score.
Monster Hunter Wilds Director Yuya Tokuda has now delivered a message to the community along with the patch notes, where they apologize for the current state of the game while also promising that corrections are on the way.
“Thank you very much for playing Monster Hunter Wilds. And a big thank you also to all the hunters who have shared their game feedback and requests, “Tokuda said.” The entire development team carefully reviews your feedback and works hard to implement improvements and adjustments.
“We apologize for the time some improvements can take, but we are obliged to deliver a more fun and satisfying gaming experience so we really appreciate your patience.”
Capcom said it is aware of many bug fixes, including a problem where the game can go down when a player movement hits another player at the same time that a particular type of communication error has happened and plans to tackle it in the upcoming patch
It also plans to introduce further optimization fixes in the future to improve stability, especially on PC, including CPU load reduction in title update 4 later this year.
