- Nubia Pad Pro is launched outside of China
- The tablet comes with impressive specifications for the price
- Start configuration sets you back $ 420 / £ 360
We may have just got a new competitor for our extensive best tablet guidance because Nubia Pad Pro is launched globally. It is the first Android tablet from the Chinese company and it has specifications to compete with the best iPads.
Go to the official Nubia Pad Pro list (via Gsmarena) and you will see the device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 -Chipset, with 8 GB, 12 GB or 16 GB RAM and either 256 GB or 512 GB of storage on board.
That chipset is not the latest, but it is only a few years old and still has plenty of power for the daily tablet tasks. Factor in the starting price of $ 420 / £ 360 (a launch in Australia has not been mentioned) and this seems like a pretty sweet deal.
The Nubia Pad Pro also looks that part, nicely curved and finished based on the previously released marketing images: The tablet is only 7.3 mm thick, tip scales of 523 grams and boasts a 10.9-inch, 2880 x 1800 pixel, 144 Hz display.
Nubia vs Apple
Although we haven’t had a chance to review or even hold the Nubia Pad Pro yet, based on the specifications and images, it seems to be a serious competitor to Apple’s iPad level iPad, which was updated again in March.
This Apple tablet has a starting price of $ 349 / £ 329 / AU $ 599, so it’s cheaper than the NUBIA offering. However, the iPad also has a lower resolution screen and smaller RAM and starts with less storage (128 GB).
Fit iPad with 256 GB of storage for all your photos, movies and other files – which is what the Nubia Pad Pro starts with – and you are up to $ 449 / £ 429 / AU $ 799. It makes the Android setting look very appealing.
Of course, you need to weigh various other factors, including the other devices you have and the ecosystems you have already invested in, but this is a welcome new addition to the best Android tablet market – and you can currently also pick up some pre -order agreements.
