Why do people love sp.?
People on social media have praised Department Spthat highlights the “next level” that acts from Matthew Goode. Some have even called for another season to be green -lit because it’s just so good.
Department Q on Netflix is such a good crime thriller. Matthew Goode’s acting was the next level! I hope they are doing season 2 of this series. #Deptq #departmentq #netflix pic.twitter.com/kztdarco0fMay 30, 2025
I had finished the rest of the #deptq episodes last night. I can’t say enough about how good Goode’s performance is in this one. I think with a better unified mystery this show has the potential to be one of the best. The ending was emotional and I can’t wait for another season. pic.twitter.com/dlddtlnp0t31 May 2025
While we currently have no word about Department SpThe future, it would certainly be nice to see it return to one of the best streaming services. I’ve always been a big fan of police dramas, most recently the excellent BBC series Line with dutyand one of its stars, Kelly MacDonald, appear in Department Sp also.
She joins a brilliant role crew along with Goode, Mark Bonnar, Jamie Sives, Shirley Henderson and Kate Dickie, whose performances really lift this cruel, nail -biting drama.
The series follows the creation of a new police unit, a cold-case department formed “In the hope of generating good press for a bilated Edinburgh Police Department.”
It was created by Scott Frank who co-created the brilliant Netflix show Queen’s GambitAnd that’s safe to say he has done it again here.
While the two shows are very different he has definitely had people glued on their TV devices and we can only hope that Department Sp comes back to another round.
