- Another Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Benchmark has appeared
- It suggests performance at the level of Galaxy S25 Ultra
- The phone is likely to be launched sometime in April
Super-slim phones are big from an aesthetic point of view, but the shrunken form factor can lead to performance limits-so it is reassuring to see a new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Benchmark Leak, which suggests it will be up to speed with the rest of the series.
According to the benchmark (via Sammobile), the Galaxy S25 edge appears to come with 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite inside. It is the variant set for a higher urge that we have seen in other Samsung devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S25.
In addition, the single-core score of 2,969 and the Multi-Core score of 9,486 suggests that the performance will be on par with the Galaxy S25 Ultra-the phone we described as “The Ultimate Android” in our Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Review.
There are some warnings here: This may well be a Galaxy S25 Edge running unfinished software, for example. But it is good to see these early results pointing in the right direction, ahead of the phone’s expected launch in April.
Remains cool
The chips, which is mounted inside a phone, does not always tell the whole story of its performance potential: To prevent the chips from overheating and crashing the phone, it will be accompanied by different safety measures and cooling functions.
How effective this cooling is – and thus how fast the chips can run – depends on several factors, but generally, the more accessible space, the better the cooling (which is why Desktop -PCs can be much more powerful than laptops).
While the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is rumored to be only 5.84 mm thick, at the front of the back, it is also expected to be higher and wider than the standard Galaxy S25. This could mean that Samsung can fit into a more advanced cooling system.
Everyone should be revealed within the next few weeks when Samsung reveals the phone to the fullest – after giving us a brief glimpse of what it looks like. It looks like Apple will keep up with its own super-slim phone later this year, the iPhone 17 Air.
