- Photos of Samsung One UI 8.5 are leaked
- Some visual changes and blooms are visible
- It is not clear when the software can roll out
With the Samsung One UI 8 update (based on Android 16), now rolling out to Galaxy phones and tablets all over the world, we have what seems to be a sneak preview of the big UI 8.5 update that will be coming next.
Pictures of the software are shown on Sammyguru and show some significant changes in the user interface. The setting pages have more compact menu items, the search box is at the bottom and there are gradient effects at the edges.
With a few drop shadows added as well, the overall impression of a interface that is a little lighter on the eyes and with a little more in the way of visual flowering. Other adjustments include a back button flowing over the rest of the interface.
As pointed out by Sammyguru, some of these changes are similar to what we’ve seen from Apple with iOS 26, but the imitation is not too creepy – this still looks very much like a mobile operating system made by Samsung.
Leaks and betas
Look at
What we do not get here are any indications of new features or features that can be introduced with a UI 8.5. Given that the version number only pops up by 0.5, we may not see much in the way of upgrades.
Before an official rollout and beta test phase, we will undoubtedly also see more leaks: Android Authority has already seen a UI 8.5 feature that seems designed to prevent seizures caused by photos sensitive epilepsy.
There is also no indication of when this software may start to appear on phones and tablets, although Samsung has increased the pace of its UI updates in recent months – with oneui 8 after quickly from a UI 7.
One UI 8 Software debuted with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable and now rolls out to the Galaxy S25 hand set. Then it comes way to older units in the coming weeks.
