- Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 Launches on July 2nd
- The update introduces the new five -star character phainon and the highly expected Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] cooperation
- Plus, GenWorks for old characters Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka and Jingliu
Everything suggested that version 3.4 would be a huge update to Honkai: Star Rail. And now that ‘For the sun is ready to die’ has been fully revealed, it is clear that we have plenty to look forward to when it is launched on July 2nd.
If you want a quick overview: There is the introduction of a fan-favorite character, the continuation of the Amphoreus story, a new area to explore, the launch of a highly expected Fate Collab, GenWorks of some of the game’s oldest and most beloved characters, the recognition of some of the most popular new devices and a whole series of new gears and events.
In the event that the most important art does not make it clear, the addition of phainon is as a playable character the highlight. He joins the game as a physical character after the road of destruction. Based on the recordings shared in livestream, Phainon offers one of the game’s most unique sets yet that sees him take enemies as a one-man army.
First he builds up ‘coreflame’ stacks as he uses his skill, receives buffs from the rest of the team and debuffs from enemies. Then, when you reach 12 stacks, you can activate his ultimate form that removes the rest of your party from the battle, dramatic buffer phainon’s statistics and allows him to detach three new attacks. One of these effectively resembles a planet end explosion for some ridiculously high damage.
As cool as all this sounds, I suffer from very limited means after the last few spots, so this may be necessary to be a jump for me. My eyes are also on the surroundings of Sunday and Tribbie as well as future characters – but more about it a little.
Finally launched as part of 3.4, is a Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] Collaboration with new grades, tasks and events.
I will be the first to admit that I am not hugely familiar with the world of FateBut the tension for this collaboration between the game’s player base is extremely high. It was only made clear by the reaction to Saber’s surprise revealed at the end of the recent other anniversary concert.
Both Saber (Wind, Destruction) and Archer (Quantum, The Hunt) join the game as playable characters on July 11. Unlike other limited figures, the banners for both of them will run for a longer period. Exactly how long yet has not been confirmed.
Even if you are not planning to pull after these characters, if you log in before the end of version 3.6, you may require Archer for free. Plus, if you use 200 Star Rail Special Passes across limited banners in the entire 3.4, you also get a copy of Archer’s signature light cone.
And then, if that wasn’t enough, the older figures will get Silver Wolf, Blades, Kafka and Jingliu all much needed improvements to their abilities and eidolons in 3.4. Finally, I could be able to get Kafka off the bench and back in one of my main teams with this as I really miss playing the dot sheet type.
I will not go through every buff and change here as it would be a whole new piece in itself, but you can check out all the details of the Novaflare character improvement system published on Hoyolab.
Look at
Completion of everything that comes in version 3.4, there is a new clothing for Firefly, an updated version of the Fun Match-3-Mini game, origami Bird clashes, new Plane ornaments for farm and a long-awaited ski dialogue function.
I stick my throat out here and say I’m glad they’ve finally added the latter to the game as someone who doesn’t always click with the game’s often verbal, styled and rolling approach to storytelling.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 will be launched on July 12. Free-to-play RPG is available now on PC, Mobile and PlayStation 5.
