- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is suddenly shut down on iOS
- Square Enix says the problem lies with an insoluble purchase error in the app
- The specific problem has been speculated by users
There have been some surprising news in the world of Final FantasyAs the game’s developer Square Enix recently shut down Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on iOS without warning. The move only hit the game on iOS where other platforms were not affected, leaving iOS users who wonder what on earth had happened.
According to Square Enix, the problem was centered on buying the app in the game. In particular, a blog post from the company revealed that “We received reports of customers who were unable to access the extra content they bought for the iOS version of the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.” This problem also affects the full, paid version of the game.
Unfortunately, Square Enix has taken the drastic step of closing the game on iOS hero. The developer said that “further study revealed that we are unable to completely resolve the error and implement the new changes, making it unlikely to resume service to the game.”
Square Enix believes the problem lies with “changes made in the model in the app.” Although this seems a little guard, some have speculated that the decision may be due to a recent change of Apple’s purchase verification in the app. If it is true, it may be what has caused the disturbance of the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles – although it is not clear why Square Enix could not update the game to be compatible.
How to get a refund
If you bought purchases in the app Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles On iOS and has been affected by this error, Square Enix has put the steps you can take to get a refund.
To be eligible, you must have made a purchase in the app in the game in January 2024 or later. The list of affected items includes the full version Unlock, The Magic Wallet, The Memory Crystal Pack and more. The full list can be found in Square Enix’s blog post.
To get your money back, Square Enix advises you to contact Apple Support and request a refund from them. Square Enix ‘Support Team will be available to help until August 31, 2025.
It is unfortunate to watch the game be completely drawn from the App Store. Although we hope that Square Enix is able to find a solution, judging by the company’s own words, it doesn’t sound like it will happen.
