Pete Rose can finally be introduced in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2028.
December 2027 is the first time that MLB’s All-Time Hits leader will officially be considered a plaque in Cooperstown after the Major League Baseball announced last month that they are taken off on the game’s unjustified list after they die.
The hall gave in 1991 that it would follow MLBS unjustified list and not consider anyone on it. Now that Rose is off, he is eligible for induction through Hall’s classic ERA selection, which does not meet for another 2½ years.

If and when Rose comes in he won’t be there to celebrate it. He died in September at the age of 83. For Alex Rodriguez, who has a compelling Cooperstown case about his own, it’s bitter.
“It makes me happy and sad at the same time because Pete was such a friend, and I know his heart sorted a lot because he wasn’t in,” said Rodriguez, who worked with Rose at Fox, in a recent interview with Pakinomist Digital. “I want more than anything else that could have been done while he was alive.
“You know I always say that eulogies need to be done when you live, not when you are dead because some of the best things about people are never heard by the principal. But you know, hopefully his family enjoys it and I know he looks at it somewhere. And I hope he is happy and proud. We are, determined.”

However, the former New York Yankees star is not focused on whether the argument for Rose would eventually help his own case considering his performance-enhancing drug involvement.
“It’s not my argument to fight. I’m just trying to do the best I can with my life and the nine rear nine of my life and try to do things the right way. I’ve learned from my mistakes. I’ve gone on. I hope to come in one day but again, I think I think I let other people fight for me,” he said.
Rose admitted to playing in 2004 after years of asserting his innocence. He died in September and predicted 10 days before his death he would not make the Hall of Fame before he died, If at all.
