Aaron Rodgers has not yet taken a moment in a game in a Pittsburgh Steeler’s uniform, but the veteran Quarterback already sets the tone.
During a recent appearance on Steeler’s defensive Lineman Cam Heywards “Not only football” podcast, Rodgers talked about how he responded to watching colleague quarterback Skylar Thompson take a hit and be beaten down during the early part of the training camp.
“And one thing, a really important moment, Skylar was knocked down early in the camp. And I went out there like ‘what the hell happened?’ I looked back and no one went out there.

Rodgers added that he instructed the linemen to embody the role of “policemen” every time they take the football field.
“I said, ‘We’re going to protect each other. And you’re the policemen out there on the field. You’re the big brothers out there. You protect everyone from DK [Metcalf] For me to the one who is in there (at) quarterback or who is in there (to) run back. I don’t care if it’s the practice of the forth season, no matter what. You need to protect them. “

Rodgers suggested that he realize that his message resonates with the offensive line after he saw another situation unfold several days later.
“The next time something happened about a week later, Zach [Frazier] Was in there. Clap [Freiermuth] was in there, “said Rodgers.” If Zach is in there you know Mason [McCormick’s] in there. And then I saw Troy [Fautanu] going in there. And then spencer [Anderson]. I was like ‘that’s how it looks.’ And I’m not talking about starting matches. I’m just talking about supporting your brothers up. “

On Monday, Steeler’s Tackle Broderick left Jone’s details of what he has experienced having Rodgers as a teammate. “It’s a love/hate relationship at the same time. Because he sometimes plays but not everyone is on the same page,” he explained.

Jones also recognized the huge NFL experience, Rodgers brings and praised the four-time league MVP for having “a good sense of who he is.”
“But it’s also good to have that bond in having the understanding, ‘OK, he’s a veterinarian. I know everything, let me make sure everyone else is good, and then we keep going with what’s going on no matter what the situation was.’ Just things like that.
Han Steelers play their last trial of the year on Thursday night against Carolina Panthers. Rodgers and Steelers open their regular season on September 7 against his former team, the New York Jets.
