The schedule for Steelers and the presumed Week 1 Start -quarterback is not easy. Rodgers returns to East Rutherford, New Jersey, to play the New York Jets in week 1, followed by the home opener against Seattle Seahawks in week 2 and a road match against Drake Maye and New-Look New England Patriots.

Steelers’ opponents for the 2025 season have a winning percentage of 2024 of 52.6%, and because of that, former Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum a “bold prediction” about Rodgers.

“I will come up with a bold prediction,” he said Wednesday at ESPN’s “Get Up.” “I think Aaron Rodgers will be irrelevant by Thanksgiving. Irrelvel. A non-playoff team, a 42-year-old quarterback, a legend going out in the sunset.”

His roofs were greeted with surprise.

“Tell me why they want to be relevant?” Tannenbaum told the hosts. “They are the third best team in the division. They will have to find out if Will Howard, as they were preparing from Ohio State, which I think is very exciting.”

Steelers’ quarterback situation after Ben Roethlisberger has been akin to what Indianapolis Colts experienced after Andrew Luck retired in 2019.

Roethlisberger withdrew after the 2021 season. Since then, Steelers has used Kenny Pickett, Mitchell Trubisky, Mason Rudolph, Justin Fields and Russell Wilson. Throughout it all, head coach Mike Tomlin has the residence.

Steelers, although they haven’t reached it out of the Wild-Card round, have only missed the post-season one time since 2020. While the offense has been sputtering, the defense has turned out to show up when needed.

While Tannenbaum could be right in especially Rodgers, it does not necessarily mean counting Pittsburgh in 2025.
