Aaron Rodgers Rumors: NFL Star reveals what he wants to look for in new team

Aaron Rodgers will hit free agency this season as the New York Jets announced their intention to share ways with the four-time NFL MVP.

He spoke with TMZ Sports after he left a training last week and was asked about the “factors” he will be looking for in his next team.

“If they want you” and “If they got a good team,” he said to the reporter in the parking lot before entering his vehicle.

Like Kansas City Chief’s tight end Travis Kelce, Rodgers’ decision on whether he decides to hang it up or continue to play, be a great story that goes into the high season. He joined Jets via trading from Green Bay Packers in 2023, but missed the whole of the regular season after he tore his Achilles a few pieces in week 1.

He came back and started all 17 matches for Jets in 2024. He had 3,897 passing yards and 28 touchdown passes. But New York ended 5-12.

New York team owner Woody Johnson, general manager Darren Moughey and head coach Aaron Glenn said earlier this month that the team decided to share ways with him.

“I personally would like to thank Aaron for his time at the New York Jets,” Johnson said in a statement. “His arrival in 2023 was met with uninhibited excitement, and I would forever be grateful that he chose to join us to continue his Hall of Fame career.

“From the first day he embodied all that it meant to be a New York -Jet, embraced our fans and immersed himself in our city. That’s what I will remember the most when I look back on his time here. He will always be welcome and I wish him only the best in what he chooses to do next.

Los Angeles Rams, Las Vegas Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers are the three most important favorites to land rodgers during the high season if he had to decide to continue his career, according to Draftkings.
