Abdali -missile system successfully tested: ISPR

Pakistan successfully performed on Saturday a training launch of its surface-to-surface Abdali weapons system, the military said as part of a running military exercise aimed at assessing operational emergency preparedness and technological capabilities.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the missile has a range of 450 kilometers and was launched during the operational emergency exercise that is the codename “Indus.”

The launch was observed by senior officials from the Army’s strategic forces command, Strategic Plan’s department and Pakistan’s strategic scientific community.

The purpose of the test was to validate the system’s upgraded navigation technology and improved maneuverability.

According to ISPR, the weapon system demonstrated precision target direction and stable flight performance and met all mission targets.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Joint Chiefs for Staff Committee, and heads of Pakistan’s armed forces congratulated the staff involved.

They expressed full confidence in the country’s strategic deterrent and praised the technical expertise of engineers and researchers who contributed to the project.

The Abdali missile system forms a key component of Pakistan’s conventional and strategic arsenal, designed for rapid implementation and high accuracy against earth targets.
