ACC Tournament: Duke’s Cooper Flagg leaves games with injury

Duke beat Georgia Tech 78-70 in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, but the greater concern after the victory is Cooper Flagg’s health.

Duke’s Star -Nybstor left the game in a wheelchair in the first half after falling awkward on his ankle.

Flagg jumped to get a rebound, and as he fell to the ground, he landed on his left ankle. He immediately curled himself on the floor.

Flagg then limped to the bench, clearly in need, before sitting down. After leaving the game, Flagg was put in a wheelchair and taken to the dressing room.

Despite the injury, Flagg returned to the bench from the dressing room to cheer on his teammates in the second half, but he did not go back into the game.

Duchy coach Jon Scheyer said at his press conference after Game that there was swelling in the ankle.

“He sprained his ankle. X -rays were negative, which is amazing. We just have to see how he recovers and how he goes from there,” Scheyer said.

At one point, Georgia Tech led 26-12 in the first half before the devils closed the gorge to 31-26, which went into the break.
