Adam Sandler performed an unexpected performance at the 2025 Academy Awards under Conan O’Brien’s opening monologue, where the two put a show of playful quarrel.
The 58-year-old, after its tradition of taking up relaxed wear to formal events, participated in the 97. Oscars on March 2 wearing a bright blue hood sweatshirt and navy blue basketball shorts.
O’Brien noticed and compared ghostly sandlers attire with someone, “dressed as a guy playing video poker at 2”
Sandler who answered from his seat in the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles said, “No one once thought about what I was wearing before you brought it up!”
He continued, “You know what, Conan? I like my look because I am a decent person. What I wear or have nothing on me. Did you feel the need to make fun of me in front of my friends because I was wearing sweet gymnastics shorts and a fluffy sweatshirt?
Although O’Brien offered an apology, Sandler eventually decided to leave the auditorium and leave participants in hysterical laughter.
Before departure, he managed to fit into a last quip, invited participants to a basketball game after the ceremony and shared an easy moment with Timothée Chalamet, embraced him and gave him a playful kiss upside down.
