ISLAMABAD:
Afghanistan’s Taliban government on Saturday did not send its envoy to a global summit on the education of Muslim girls, which was also attended by Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai.
The two-day conference, hosted by Pakistan, has brought together education officials from dozens of Muslim countries, but without Afghanistan – the only country in the world where girls are banned from school.
Minister for Federal Education and Vocational Education, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, had sent a formal invitation to the Afghan interim government to attend the conference.
