Afghan wives are charging IHC against deportation

Islamabad:

Three Afghan women who are married to Pakistani citizens have arranged Islamabad High Court (IHC) to prevent their deportation and to seek permanent residence in Pakistan.

Justice Inam Amin Minhas picked up the petitions, but later referred the case to Chief Justice and noted that there was already pending a case of similar kind for Chief Justice’s Court.

During the hearing, lawyer Umar Ijaz Gilani, attorney for the petitioners, argued that foreign women who were marring Pakistani citizens were entitled to citizenship rights.
