Peshawar:

Khyber -pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in the province – especially in the newly merged districts, attributed directly to the security situation in nearby Afghanistan.

He made these comments during his meeting with the British High Commissioner of Pakistan, Jane Marriott, in his office on Tuesday. They discussed the questions of mutual interest, especially the role of British donor agencies in public welfare initiatives, regional security and other relevant issues.

During the meeting with the British HC, Gandapur emphasized the need for serious and result -oriented efforts to find a sustainable solution to this long -standing topic that warned that if the security challenges in the merged districts are not addressed quickly, they could escalate and influence the whole country.

He also informed the British envoy that the provincial government had formed a Jirga to initiate dialogue with Afghan colleagues and that all the necessary preparations for sending the delegation had been completed.

However, as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the federal government, the KP administration is awaiting approval of the conditions (Thurs) for the negotiations, KP CM said. He emphasized that lasting peace in the region was not only in Pakistan’s interest, but also in the interest of the entire region and the global community. He called on the world community to work collectively against a permanent resolution through dialogue.

By touching on the financial challenges that the province is facing, the minister of chief criticized the federal government for not releasing KP’s Due Part under the National Finance Commission (NFC) prize, especially for the newly merged districts. He declared that over RS2000 billion in the Net Brand’s merit remains unpaid by the federal government.
