Ahmadi man’s lynch: Police register murder FIR

The ordained police have registered a murder case against 15 identified individuals and several unknown suspects after a member of the Ahmadiyya community was lightened by a mob outside Ahmadiyya -Hall in Karachis Saddar area on Friday afternoon.

According to Preedy Police Station Sho Shabbir Hussain, the case (FIR No. 253/2025) has been filed in accordance with sections 302, 147, 148, 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code together with section 7 of the Anti-Terrorismel Act (ATA).

The complainant, Abdul Naeem, resident of District Shaheed Benazirabad, police told him he had come to Karachi on April 18 to visit relatives on his cousin Laiq Ahmed’s residence on Tariq Road.

Around 1 p.m. At 13:30 he received a phone call informing him that his 47-year-old cousin, Laiq Ahmed-son of Nazir Ahmed-Var, was attacked by a quantity near the Hashoo Center, close to the Mazda Hotel in Saddar and had been taken to Civil Hospital.

Naeem said he rushed to the hospital with his family members, where doctors confirmed Laiq had succumbed to his injuries. Later, when he visited the place of the incident near Ahmadiyya Hall, he learned that a large group had surrounded and fiercely assaulted Laiq around 2 p.m. 13:15, which left him with serious head and facial injuries.
