The Federal Minister of IT and Telecommunications, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, has said that AI policy approved by the federal cabinet is a revolutionary step aimed at placing Pakistan among the developed nations in the world.
Sharing the broad contours of politics in a television message Monday, she emphasized that AI brings greater transformation not only into it and technology, but across all walks of life, including health, education, trade and economics.
She expressed the obligation to ensure that every person in Pakistan harvests the benefits of AI.
According to the policy, she said a fund will be set up to support and promote the innovative ideas of the youth and their startups.
She added that the policy will strengthen and prepare youth for market -oriented jobs. The extensive policy imagines several projects to ensure that AI education reaches any person.
Shaza Fatima said the policy also focuses on the security of citizens’ data and that AI will be used to further improve cyber security.
The Minister of Information Technology said investments will also be made in AI-related infrastructure. She said Pakistan will seek partnerships with the most important countries to continue its AI agenda.
Earlier this month, she met with Google’s regional AI developer -ecosystem and social teams to explore strategic collaboration to promote Pakistan’s artificial intelligence landscape.

The Google team provided an overview of their developer ecosystem in the region that highlighted the contributions of Google Developer Groups (GDGS), community-based AI initiatives and effective platforms such as VoiceMabad.
The discussion focused on expanding community-driven innovation and AI-adoption over Pakistan.
