There have been a lot of conflicting reports on whether Apple would come around to launch AirPods Pro 3 this year, but one of the more reliable journalists on Apple Beat says the wireless earplugs are actually coming by the end of 2025.
This reporter is Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, who says that AirPods Pro 3 also comes with a significant upgrade: built -in heart rate monitoring. The same technique has previously been integrated into the Powerbeats Pro 2, which was launched in February.

Gurman also repeats his previous claim that Apple is working on a paid health+ subscription option for users who may include services from an AI -fitness coach. The idea is that you would get personal advice on diet, exercise and more.
Three years later
We have been waiting for a long time for AirPods Pro 3 to arrive, considering that Apple AirPods Pro 2 debuted back in September 2022. The wireless earplugs have changed quite a bit in that time – and we have since had Apple AirPods 4, of course.
Most of the leaks and rumors we have heard about these earplugs are concerned when they actually see the light of day. There have been hints in iOS 26 that AirPods Pro 3 would arrive in 2025, although a reliable source has proposed a 2026 launch.
It seems that Apple wants health tracking to be a primary focus of AirPods Pro 3, in addition to getting high quality sound into your ears, and we can see the wireless earplugs able to track other important statistics besides your heartbeat.
The wireless earplugs are one of several units “in the” to Apple “already in the fall”, which is typically September, October and November. Of course, we also expect the iPhone 17 and Apple Watch 11 sometime next month.
