Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley said in a recent conversation that he would support Auburn Tiger’s men’s basketball head coach Bruce Pearl if Pearl decided to run for the US Senate.
Although he does not want the Pearl to leave the Tigers team, he has been coaching for the past 11 years.
“I respect and trust him. I just told him to do what he wants to do,” Barkley told al.com. “Obviously, he has made Auburn Basketball relevant, which makes me happy. I said, ‘Hi, man, as much as I love that you are the main basketball trainer in Auburn, you take Auburn to two Final Fours, something I never thought would happen, but I understand it.’

“If he wants to run, I’ll support him 100%.”
The Alabama Senation seat will be vacated when Tommy Tuberville runs for governor of the state. Pearl has not said if he will consider an election campaign, but his political Q score has grown in the last almost two years.

Pearl, Jewish, has expressed his heartfelt support to Israel in the light of rising anti -Semitism in the United States since the Terrorist attacks on October 7 in Israel. He has been a supporter of how President Donald Trump has also handled the conflicts in the Middle East.
Pearl was also tapped to chair the US Israeli Education Association.
Barkley told Outlet Pearl’s support from Trump would not swing his support.
Barkley said it would hurt the program if Pearl decided to drive.

Pearl is 246-125 as Tigers’ head coach. He has led Auburn to two last four appearances, including last season.
