Unless less than a week back before the MLB trading deadline goes, teams are back to the phones while the players are waiting for their fate for the rest of the 2025 season and beyond.
Players will tell you that they are trying to keep the outside noise just that – outside. But it’s hard not to see it coming up on social media feed, sports interviews and more opportunities to acquire news.
However, Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora does not want his players to believe in everything they hear and read. He especially appointed a marketing market – the one he used to work for.

“I can tell them stories about ESPN in the green space, how people made s — Up-you know, shopping,” Cora told journalists on Sunday. “And I can tell them it doesn’t believe in everything that is said, you know?”
Cora is aware that the deadline for the trade deadline is what fans will see as teams try to make their troops better or look ahead for the future by dealing with top talent for future assets.

“I got stories, man. I don’t want to bury people,” Cora said when a reporter asked who he was referring to ESPN.
Cora understands how hard the trade deadline can be from a player perspective considering his 14 seasons as one in MLB.
Red Sox is one of these teams with a rabi fanbase that always looks at to see what they will do this time of year. It is also worth noting that one of the best trading names going around is Jarren Duran, the team’s all-star outfielder, who could be on the move before 7 p.m. 18 Thursday.

However, Boston is currently sitting in a good playoff position from a tough Al East Division of 57-50. They own the second Wild Card slot in the American league, just behind their division-rival New York Yankees.
