Alex Warren reveals unforgettable details about Chappell Roan at the Grammys

Alex Warren shares what Chappell Roan told him after his Grammy mishap

Alex Warren had a terrible experience at his first Grammy performance this year, but Chappell Roan was one of the people on his side who offered him support at the time.

The 25-year-old pop star faced a technical issue during his performance on the show, which left him feeling like his career was over.

However, The Ordinary hitmaker shared that after he completed the performance despite not being able to hear himself on the mic, he told Alex Cooper on Call her dad podcast that, with his head on his wife’s shoulder, he spent the rest of the ceremony feeling “despondent”.

Warren said Roan, 26, noticed his distress and approached him in his seat. “Chappell saw 100% that I was just distraught, and she came up to me. She said, ‘Dude, if anybody understands, it’s the people in this room, and you sounded amazing,'” he said.

The Best New Artist nominee noted that he will “never forget how sweet she was because of that.”

In the same podcast, Warren told the host that the show had been rehearsed all week and went smoothly, except for the main day.

“They’re like, ’30 seconds.’ I said, ‘I can’t hear anything, I can’t hear myself. It’s live TV. Twenty-five seconds.’ I say, ‘Boys, something’s wrong,'” he said, recalling the incident.

He had a moment to make up his mind, and he decided that “it’s meant to be” and proceeded to stage the performance despite the lack of technical support.
