- You can sign up to try Alexa+ on Amazon.com
- Amazon revealed the super -charged Alexa on February 26th and begins a phase roll -out in March in the US
- You need an Echo -Show 8, 10, 15 or 21 to be eligible for early access
Amazon finally revealed the Alexa upgrade we have all been waiting for several years for, and Alexa+ is set to begin early access to them in the US next month, March 2025.
At least it will be a few months before all eligible users have it. Still, if you claw to try the super-charged Amazon assistant who mixes natural conversation with some serious backend smarts, there is a path to at least sign up and have the right device to potentially lock access early.
While Alexa+ will be free with a Prime membership or $ 19.99 a month, if you do not have one, access to the service is free in the period “Early Access”. So let’s go through how to sign up and tell Amazon that you are interested, plus the device type you need to use Alexa+.
How To Sign Up To Alexa+ Early Access
First thing first you will go over to Amazon’s destination page that invites you to ‘meet the new Alexa’ here. You can see Amazon’s trailer for the new virtual assistant, but we recommend that you read our collapse of what you need to know about Alexa+ here.
If you roll down the page on the right side, you see a box that says, “Alexa+ is coming soon.” So, if you are signed up for Amazon, you can sign up for marking your interest and being notified when available. Do this put you in pending queue to access Alexa+.
Amazon said access will start rolling out in waves starting in March 2025 for customers in the United States. There is no timeline for places outside the United States yet, but it is likely to be a bit considering Amazon’s slow and steady approach here.
However, it does not appear that capacity is a long -term concern, with Daniel Rausch, Amazon’s VP for Alexa and Echo, who tells Techradar that it is ready and says, “Yes, it’s very nice to have AWS at Amazon.”
When you sign up, you will see “We e -Mail you when it is available” and receives an E email that confirms just that. However, you need a specific Echo device to be among the first to get the chance to try Alexa+.
And that would be one of these Alexa-driven smart screens: Echo Show 8, Echo Show 10, Echo Show 15 or Echo Show 21. No luck if you have the slightest Echo Show or a standard Echo Smart speaker for early access.
Amazon makes it clear that it is not limited if you already had one of these devices before Alexa+ was announced.
“We will start rolling out early access to US customers who own or buy an Echo Show 8, 10, 15 or 21,” – which is pretty clear that you can buy one now to access.
While none of these models are currently reduced, Amazon is known for offering discounts and there is a good chance that these will see some in the future. Furthermore, Amazon’s latest Echo shows – the 15 or the 21 years – must be excellent screens to take advantage of everything that Alexa+ is set to offer. Techradar just reviewed Echo Show 21 And gave it four out of five stars, noting that it is an excellent, oversized smart screen with a good cooking buddy and smart home pots. The Echo Show 21 is available for $ 399.99 at Amazon.
Of course, if you don’t need a 21.5 inch screen, Show 8At Show 10or Show 15 are better options to consider. They are also a little more affordable in the US for $ 149.99, $ 249.99 and $ 299.99 respectively compared to $ 399 Echo Show 21.
We are eager to go practical and spend more time with Alexa+, so much so that I have already signed up for a chance of early access and get an Echo show 21. When we first go practical, we return with our early impressions and tips to make the most of Amazon’s latest.
