Alienware is racing into 2026 as it teases two new classes of laptops at CES 2026 that the company hopes to launch later this year, as well as bringing OLED to its 16-inch Area-51 models.
Alienware took 2025 to consolidate many of its various laptops into a single relaunched ‘Area-51’ brand with one 18-inch and two 16-inch models. This year, however, the company seems ready to expand this portfolio with a new ultra-slim model and a budget-oriented device.
Alienware promises a ‘hidden’ ultra-slim gaming laptop line this year
For the ultra-slim, Alienware says this new laptop will be around 17mm thick, which is pretty much the same thickness as the Razer Blade 14 I reviewed last year, if you’re looking for a more concrete example to consider.
According to Alienware, the company set out to build a laptop that primarily delivers features that appeal to gamers, but also excels at people who need a powerful device for creative projects, productivity, and everything in between.
This new laptop class, which will include 14-inch and 16-inch models, appears to be Alienware’s way of softening the edges of its gamer aesthetic somewhat to appeal to professionals who want to use a powerful laptop for work during the day and for gaming outside of work hours without worrying about bringing an RGB-heavy gaming laptop the wrong way into work.
Alienware introduces a budget-friendly gaming laptop that fills the entire back of the Dell G series
Next, Alienware plans to introduce a budget-oriented gaming laptop priced much lower than the typical premium units that carry the Alienware imprint. Admittedly, this won’t be able to include the same premium materials and hardware that its slimmer siblings possess, but with the unceremonious retirement of the Dell G-series gaming laptops, this is definitely a market segment that Alienware seems well suited to fill.
There’s very little information on this new product class right now, much less detail on specs or the number of models it will include, but Alienware emphasizes that it won’t skimp on the essentials, acknowledging that “this isn’t on par with our flagship Area-51,” but promising that “it’s still built to Alienware standards by not cutting corners, and most of the performance that matters, and the performance.”
