All students with 65% marks to get laptops

Launching the Honhaar Scholarship program for Gujranwala division by distributing checks among the top 10 students of Government College Women University (GCWU) Sialkot, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced that all students with more than 65% marks will get laptops. “

A guard of honor was presented to the students by a group of Punjab Police.

The Chief Minister announced that the Punjab government would take responsibility for the cancer treatment of a female student’s mother.

Under the scheme, 1,947 students from Gujranwala division will get scholarships worth Rs89.8 million, including 1,276 students from state universities receiving Rs58.5 million, 481 students from colleges Rs13.2 million, 112 students from private institutions and 78 medical colleges.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said on the occasion that she had directed the authorities concerned to increase the number of Honhaar scholarships to 50,000 in next year’s budget.

She said 30,000 scholarships were given to children but there should be more. She said public money should be spent on their welfare.

She added, “Very soon second and third year students will also get merit scholarships.”

The Chief Minister said, “I salute the students who continue to work hard despite lack of resources. I understand the financial difficulties of the parents educating their children.”

She highlighted, “Going beyond political affiliation, scholarships are given to everyone at Meeit instead of any recommendation. Don’t thank me for getting a scholarship, it’s your right and the fruit of your hard work.”

She said that Honhaar was the largest scholarship program in the history of Pakistan.

She added: “The biggest part of Pakistan’s population is youth, my biggest priority is my youth.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said, “It is my responsibility to fulfill all your needs. The first batch of laptops has arrived, I will come and give them to you myself very soon.”

She stressed, “All children with more than 65% marks will receive laptops.” She added, “I’ve hand-picked the best laptops on the market for you.”

The Chief Minister said that the students had presented ‘Kalam-e-Iqbal’ very well in the poet’s city which had highlighted the importance of the youth.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also said that 100,000 e-bikes would be given to students in Punjab for free.”

She added: “The country’s economy is improving, inflation is coming down and the stock market has broken records. I want the fruits of all this to now reach you.”

The chief minister also advised the students, “Children, keep your eyes open, don’t be misled by anyone, our red line is Pakistan. Pakistan is our motherland and mother cannot discriminate between children. You all must serve this country.”
