- Amazon launches a cheaper 16 GB Kindle Colorsoft

In our Effusive Amazon Kindle Colorsoft review, we said it’s hard to go back to a black and white Kindle experience after trying the color version – and now there are two more models to choose from if you think about switching.
First up there is a 16 GB version of the original that halved the warehouse available on the 32 GB model that launched last October. Given that you can still pack thousands of E books in there, and it’s cheaper, it can be an even better purchase than the existing model.
32 GB Kindle Colorsoft may be yours for $ 279.99 / £ 269.99 out of offer, while the new 16 GB edition of EREADER will set you back $ 249.99 / £ 239.99 – it’s not a huge saving, but that’s something. These models are still launched in Australia, so AU pricing is TBC.
In addition to the storage, which is cut in half, does the cheaper Kindle Colorsoft without the automatic adjusting front light and wireless charging features. You get three months of Kindle Unlimited included and EREADER can be purchased now.
Thinking about the kids
The other new model Amazon has announced today (July 24) is the Kindle Colorsoft kids, which as the name suggests, are for children. It adds the current selection of kid -friendly models you can get to Standard Amazon Kindle and Amazon Kindle Paperwhite.
This device costs $ 269.99 / £ 259.99 and comes with a year of Amazon Kids+ Subscription Service-There offers a wealth of children’s-passing apps, games, videos, ebooks, audiobooks and other content-and a “fun kid-friendly cover”.
As with the other Kindles for Youngsters, you get additional features: vocabulary builder and Word Wise Tools to learn new words, a special opendyslexic font and bluetooth support to listen to E books.
Kindle Colorsoft Kids is also available now, and like the other children’s models, there is a two-year warranty you can take advantage of if it breaks. Both of these models are likely to enter our guide to the best kindles with time.
