- Amazon just announced a device event for February 26
- Event graphics invite us to “see what’s next”
- Amazon is likely to use the scene to finally show its next generation Alexa
We have all wondered how AI-Infunded Alexa is, and it seems that the technology giant is almost ready to tell us. Amazon just issued invitations to a unit -focused event on February 26th. Panos Panay, Amazon’s SVP of Devices, will be there along with other devices and service team members, and we have a teaser image with a very well -known shade of blue. The event will be in New York City, though only invited and Amazon will not live streaming it.
Amazon promises that we “see what’s next”. It is the only highlighted text on the invitation along with the brand’s logo and the date. It’s not much to go, even if it teases products and services. The biggest tip is perhaps a swirling shape in light blue – perhaps part of a lower case ‘A’.
We all know that Amazons is working with his next generation of Alexa Virtual Assistant, which was shown at the last formal unit event held in September 2023 at the company’s second headquarters in Virginia. Since then, however, we have not had many news except for leaks on which it is working on and will eventually debut.
Amazon skipped a formal unit event in 2024, but several still stumbled out all year – especially a new series of Kindles in October. There was also Supersized Echo Show 21 along with a next generation of Echo-Show 15 in November, and the Echo site was reintroduced during the summer. All three of these as well as the rest of the Echo lineup still have the same old Alexa assistant that we have all come to know.
The same version of Alexa is also on the new four TV devices-a streaming stick on Entry-Level and the first mini-driven TV models. It is back to see if these devices will have Alexa teased only in September 2023 with an LLM backing for a more conversation tone and if the rumored ‘brain transplant’ will be supported.
Premium Alexa?
It is sufficient to say that Amazon is clearly ready to talk about something, and it seems that all signs are pointing to the next generation of Alexa. The use of “devices and services” is also worth a callout as it is joked that Amazon may end up charging Alexa. Amazon may also be debuting some new hardware, which can be a next generation echo-speaker full-size or even an update to the bitt size dot.
We know more soon that the event is only three weeks away and Techradar will be on earth and break down what Panos and the team at Amazon reveal. Tell us in the comments what you think can be shown and if you would pay for more intelligent, more skilled Alexa.
