Prime Video has released the first official image of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft for its upcoming Tomb Raider TV show.
Uploaded today (January 15) to the streamer’s various social media accounts, the professional snap shows Turner wearing Croft’s iconic costume. In fact, from the teal tank top and red-tinted sunglasses to the chunky belt and classic dual gun holsters strapped to each leg, Turner certainly looks the part of Croft’s latest live-action remake.

The image reveal comes five months later Amazon announced that Turner would portray Lara Croft in its Tomb Raider TV adaptation.
At the time, longtime fans of the action-adventure game franchise were clearly unimpressed with Turner’s hiring. But in the hours since this photo debuted online, many have performed a complete U-turn and had nothing but positive things to say. In fact, a thread on r/tombraider is full of users praising Turner’s likeness to Croft and how seriously Amazon is taking its adaptation for small screens.
It’s certainly a marked change in tone from Tomb Raider devotees about the Phoebe Waller-Bridge-developed series. And with Amazon confirming that cameras have started rolling on the new Prime Video show, the countdown is officially on for its eventual release on one of the world’s top streaming services.
Who else is part of the Tomb Raider TV show cast? And when will it be released?
Right now, the last question cannot be answered. Amazon has indicated when it Tomb Raider TV show will see the light of day, but with principal photography now underway, we can’t rule out a mid-to-late 2026 launch.
As for the second query, Amazon confirmed that four famous faces will star opposite Turner on January 6th.
