While I have not yet personally testing and reviewing the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2, it seems to be a straight upgrade over the original 8Bitdo Ultimate, still sitting as our ‘best overall’ post in our best Nintendo Switch controllers buying guide.
According to the manufacturer, the ultimate 2 boast of TMR -Thumbsticks, which is essentially a Hall Effect variant that offers even greater precision and longevity. We have also seen TMR Sticks employed by Gamesir Tarantula Pro with great effect.
If you have already managed to secure a Nintendo Switch 2 forbidden, I highly recommend checking 8Bitdo Ultimate 2., while I thought Switch 2 Pro Controller was a significant upgrade in my recent practical impressions, they are ultimate 2 slightly cheaper ($ 69,99 as opposed to $ 74.99) and confirmed to have operating-resistant sticks.
And of course, if you stick with the original Nintendo Switch, 8Bitdo Ultimate 2 will be compatible with it as well as PCS and Android devices.
