- AMDS RX 9060 XT is reportedly set to launch in May
- That’s the word from chiphell and other sources have also pointed to Computex (May 20) before
- With NVIDIA’s RTX 5060, which also debuts in May, another head-to-head clash-as RX 9070 VS RTX 5070 Models-
AMDS RX 9060 XT graphics card, apparently the next on line from the RDNA 4 series, could be out in May, or it is the fresh demand from grapes.
As marked by Harukaze5719 on X (via Videocardz), a regular when it comes to pointing out hardware rumors, an editor at Chiphell has put forward the idea of a May launch without mentioning any specific date (or even a time frame area) of the month.
Chiphell is a forum over in China, and info that has fallen from there must be taken with some caution, especially as this is a vague claim. But in the theor it indicates that the RX 9060 XT models could show up in just over two weeks (although it is likely to be later in the month and I will return to the point short).
Recent Springs have RX 9060 XT as being equipped with 16 GB and 8 GB of video RAM, which with the recently revealed RTX 5060 TI from NVIDIA, except AMD is holding older GDDR6 memory, rather than following Team Green’s upgrade road to (faster) GDDR7.
It is said that 9060 XT has half of the graphics in the RX 9070 XT, and actually half the memory width as well. However, it reportedly has a somewhat faster boost speed, so guesses currently have the performance of the RX 9060 XT tone of just over half (about 60%) of 9070 XT (add spices now, and don’t be shy with it). Elsewhere, we have heard that the incoming GPU is likely to sit just below the image speeds provided by the RX 7700 XT.
Analysis: May feels right to 9060 XT launch – let’s hope the price is right too
Officially, AMD has only said that the RX 9060 models are coming in the 2nd quarter, which can be at any time until the end of June and Team Red has gone pretty quiet on these next-in-line RDNA 4 GPUs otherwise.
Can it seem a realistic view of an RX 9060 XT launch? Well, it’s an intermediate effort – literally bang in the middle of the 2nd quarter – and of course AMD won’t want to be seen to lag behind Nvidia. Team Green has just released the RTX 5060 TI (it is sold today), and the RTX 5060 is due in May (with an attractive sounds $ 299 MSRP).
As Videocardz further observes, other rumors of NVIDIA’s graphics cards manufacturing partners have proposed a Computex launch for the 9060 XT models, which are later in May (the show starts on May 20, actually). So the rumors seem to adapt to a timeframe that makes sense, but as always, is led away at your own risk.
When Nvidia falls pricing on its RTX 5060 models compared to Lovelace, this will hopefully force AMD to look at more affordable price tags for RX 9060 XT. Chiphell rumors suggest that pricing could land corresponding to RTX 5060, with perhaps a price of $ 299 for 16 GB spin and $ 249 for the 8 GB model. Other rumors have suggested that this is far too optimistic and we could look at 10% to 20% or so more.
However, pricing and accessibility in the real world rather than MSRPs are set to be a key factor in this lower mid-series-struggle and fear is much that Nvidia will come out badly in this regard. We should still not judge in advance (although it is difficult not to in Team Green’s case), and with all the chaos around customs and potential price increases at the moment, the water could not be any thicker with mud, honest.
It is also worth noting that 8 GB graphics cards do not go down well in these days-for obvious reasons, as this VRAM Loadout looks very shaking for any kind of future-proofing-so it does not seem to be wise for AMD to follow in Nvidia Models, all of whom have 16 years, all of whom have 16 who have 16 who have 16G (while Nvidia RTX 5070 is stuck with a clear wobbly sees 12 GB).
Still, the theory is that this lower RX 9060 XT 8 GB is launched instead of Vanilla RX 9060 (which grapes remain silent on, perhaps narrative).
Video Ram aside, there is a certain disappointment more wide with the total spec of RX 9060 XT, as it is jerked, with it feeling a bit weak. But as mentioned, pricing will be crucial here, and if the base 9060 XT (8 GB) ends up at $ 250 (or a whisper), it can make it a pleasantly compelling budget GPU.
