- Rumors say there will be a press event for AMD RX 9070 GPUs at the end of February
- This must be a big disclosure, hopefully complete with price information
- It makes sense that it had come right in front of a confirmed sale date in March for RX 9070 and its XT siblings
AMDS RX 9070 models may be formally announced later in February, a new rumor suggests prior to the scheduled March arrival in these graphics cards.
Harukaze5719 on X noted that BenchLife, a Chinese tech site, published this info in a story that was primarily about NVIDIA’s incoming RTX 5070 GPUs, which will be direct rivals to the RX 9070 cards. (Although AMD’s next Gen-GPUs are potential RTX 5070 killers if some rumors are right).
AMD holds a press conference for the RX 9000 series based on RDNA 4 GPU architecture at the end of February HTTPS: //t.co/ffhpjpawvbFebruary 4, 2025
We are told that the current plan is for AMD to “hold a press conference for the Radeon RX 9000 series” at the end of February, but the exact details still need to be confirmed.
I would recommend a thick coating of spices with this one because of the way the info -nugging is drawn in at the end of the article and the fact that this is translated. Benchlife is also not the top of our list of reliable sites for rumors, but that said, it has got things right in the past – and it makes some sense that I discuss next.
Analysis: Price Information for RDNA 4, ASAP, please
The way this rumor is formulated (again, remember that the translation leaves some room for doubt) is that things still sound pretty up in the air for RDNA. Formally advertised as a sale on the sale, not just a disclosure.
Team Red subsequently noted that more time was taken to hone elements such as GPU drivers and FSR 4 -support, as well as secure healthier stock levels for the RX 9070s, which sounds like a good idea to me, especially considering how nvidia The Blackwell launch has gone (terrible, stock -wise).
If we look at march after the RX 9070 graphics cards to be on shelves, a kind of formal message should come before it (AMD has also promised a launch event – in fact, it was rumored for the end of January at some point). And then a timeframe in late February makes sense in that light, but we still have to maintain an appropriate level of skepticism here.
The high hope is that we will get some price information with what reveals for a few weeks, as these MSRPs will be absolutely key to how these RDNA 4 graphics cards are stacked up to NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 models. Although AMD has also made another promise here, namely that RDNA 4 will be very competitive prices, and therefore we can hope that the RX 9070 models will really pack a value in the middle area of the GPU spectrum.
Right now, all we have is a lot of promises. We just have to hope that they manifest themselves in a reality of AMD Gunning for Nvidia’s middle class Blackwell offering in a big way, as it should force Team Green to be more competitive as well.
