AMD’s Ryzen 9 9900X got a massive but expected price cut after the launch of 9900x3d

That’s what I found after collecting data across 24 AMD CPUs, I could get prices and accessibility for and crushed the numbers at the time of writing.

9900X is AMD’s fourth fastest desktop processor at Cpubenchmark, but also the one that got the larger price reduction – almost 25% – after the launch of 9900x3d on March 12.

A price reduction of almost a quarter is nothing to sniff for a CPU near the best artists.

This model is popular with anyone looking for high performance, without a premium price tag, across different workloads such as video editing or game development, as in Scan’s 3XS GWP A1-R24 WorkStation PC.

It sold to Amazon at the time of writing for $ 374.72 down from $ 499 its lowest price ever

This Zen 5 part, launched in August 2024, has 12 cores, a basic rate of 4.4 GHz, 12 MB L3 cache and a 120W TDP.

It reached 54,836 at Cpubenchmark, my standard benchmark for processors.

It is a jaw-dropping 146 brands per day. Dollar, almost 10 times better than Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX (15) and 26% better than its larger siblings, 9950x.

It also has the cheapest costs per day. Kerne of only $ 31.23, the third fastest maximum speed (5.6 GHz), and which for all Ryzen CPUs has the 1 MB L3 cache per day. Core (in this case 12 MB for 12 cores).

This is the third of several articles based on data I have collected on 41 AMD Zen 4 and Zen 5 CPUs (Socketed, OEM). In the rest of the series I will look at the cost per. Core, Performance per Core, AMD CPUs that are getting more expensive, all this with the new Ryzen 9 9900/9950 x3D CPUs in the background.

In other words, no processor from AMD delivers more performance per year. Unit Dollar than Ryzen 9 9900x.

The Ryzen 5 9600x Is the second model in Pecking order on the value of the money meter with 131 brands per day. Dollar or 5000 brands per Kerne, the highest of all AMD processors ever tested on Cpubenchmark-there is still 19 that have not yet become the benchmark on it.

The mysterious Ryzen 5 9600

Keep an eye on Ryzen 5 9600A CPU that has been released recently and did not receive as much attention as the larger models.

It has a slightly lower basic rate, but I expect it to be the cheapest outlet Zen 5 CPU in AMD’s list.

A retail price of $ 200 and a slightly lower CPUBNCHARK -SCORE than 9600X would allow it to breeze past Ryzen 9 9900x to the top of the leaderboard.

Surprisingly, neither Ryzen 9900X nor Ryzen 9600X has broken the top 10 best selling CPU leaderboard on Amazon.com.
