Lahore:
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the housing schemes that have been built must be regulated as soon as possible in accordance with the law.
She was chairman of a meeting to discuss proposals for regulating the illegal housing communities in the province and said that government departments were equally responsible for the establishment of such schemes, but the citizens who bought the property were punished. She added, “Why did the relevant institutions blind eye when the illegal housing communities were built. Money has been taken from the poor, but no reasons are given.”
The Minister of the Ministry ordered the authorities concerned to abolish the requirement of unnecessary NO-Belationing Certificates (NOCS) for registration of housing communities.
She agreed to form a high -level committee for regulating illegal housing schemes.
She also ordered the authorities to take measures to digitize the housing sector in the province for the first time. “A Housing Society Management System must be introduced. The Housing Society approval, management and transfer will be enabled online. NOC fees are also paid online after uploading the required documents,” she added.
Main Minister Maryam Nawaz said the development and management of the schemes would also be secured through the management system.
She was considering various opportunities to devise fool -proof methods for the development and management of housing communities. She noted, “according to the rules and regulations, housing arrangements must be considered for amnesty once.”
