Andrew has settled in a well-known royal retreat called Wood Farm, which already comes with a well-worn chapter of family history.
Long before it became Andrew’s current base, the modest farmhouse served as the favorite retreat of his father, Prince Philip, in his final years.
Back in 2017, after stepping away from public duties, Philip chose Wood Farm over larger royal residences.
For him it was about peace. The house offered a great sea view and a break from the formality that defined much of royal life.
Wood Farm had long been a favorite escape for Queen Elizabeth II, who would occasionally choose its low-key charm over the more imposing Sandringham House.
The staff left behind their formal uniforms and the mood lightened considerably.
The Queen herself is said to have gone into the kitchen and is said to have taken up the dishes as well.
