- Android 16 Beta 2.1 reportedly causes larger battery drains for some users
- Comments sent to Reddit complain of the need to charge as much as twice a day
- Android 16 is expected to release at a time between April and June
Android 16 has to release some time between April and June this year, and as we get closer to that window, Google continues to roll betting versions of its latest mobile operating system.
However, these beta versions are still prior publishing buildings designed to try and test new features, and as such, it may have unfortunate side effects-factor seems a recent Android 16 beta to hit users’ phone batteries harder than expected.
As Android Authority reports, users with Android 16 Beta 2.1 have installed a serious impact on the life of the battery as a result of update.
A Reddit thread started by the official U/Android Petap program account in R/Android_beta subbreddit contains several reports on this battery editions.
User U/Jordanl171 said: “Battery life of 2.1 is so much worse than it was at 2.0 [on the] Pixel 9 Pro ”.
Others complained about unspecified charging questions, while a now-plated user said they were “forced to charge twice a day”.
Of course, this is not the type of change you would like to see with a newer version of any operating system, but I am not very concerned about this battery error.
Beta versions of operating systems certainly have some annoying or even experience problems now and then is part of the process, and much better for users and developers that these problems emerge before full release.
As long as Google follows up on its social search via platforms like Reddit and other social media, I’m pretty sure this problem will be solved before launching and probably even in a later beta -building.
Although I have not been affected by this battery drain – I do not have a Google Pixel phone and currently you need one to access the Android 16 betas – I do not think this will still be a red light for anyone who wants to update to Android 16 at the time of release.
However, it may be worth skipping this particular building. Telephone batteries are consumable components with maximum longevity that due over time, so having to recharge more often may have an impact on your device’s life.
In any case, I’m still excited about Android 16 to get to the best Android phones later in the year. Tell us what you want to see from the new Android update in the comments below.
