- The Pixel Camera app is in line for a redesign
- We are still waiting for Recover to go live
- More material 3 expressive updates come
Android 16 is now out for Pixel phones (and will soon come to Galaxy phones), and while Material 3 Expressive Redesign, we’ve been promised, hangs back, it looks like it’s going to arrive at the Pixel Camera app in the not too distant future.
As discovered by Android Authority, the latest version of the Pixel camera app has a setting menu that is re -induced that fits into Material 3 Expressive Redesign – a redesign designed to add more emotion and appeal to the visual of Android.
In fact, the interface changes have not been activated yet, but the Android Authority team has been able to make them work: We have had subtle changes on backgrounds and distance that really show the potential for material 3 expressions.
While the difference in the visual is not huge, small touches – such as control and crossing the rocker contacts – make a real difference to how easy on the eye and intuitive camera setting page is.
A taste of what is to come
It’s frustrating that the material 3 expressively redesign takes a while to roll out, but I’d rather google took its time and got the new look right instead of hurting us and leaving us with apps and interface elements that don’t look their best.
While the camera app may not be the most exciting screen you will ever come across, I really look forward to Revamp: The appearance of Android has grown a little out of date in recent years, especially on Pixel phones.
I’m a fan of simplicity and minimalism when it comes to interface design, but the pix version of Android could certainly use a little more flair and emotion without changing too much – and that’s exactly what the material 3 expressive design brings hit.
Of course, all this happens while Apple Beta is testing its own liquid glass Visual Revamp for the iPhone and its other devices. It goes far beyond the changes in Android 16, with a number of adjustments inspired by glass and transparency.
