Andy Cohen slammed after Trans athlete -debat with Meghan McCain, Payton McNabb

Andy Cohen, talk show host, best known as the face of Bravo TV’s “Watch What Happens Live”, got into a debate on social media about Trans -Including in women’s sports with Meghan McCain and former volleyball player Payton McNabb, who suffered brain injury when she was injured by a transgender opponent years ago.

Cohen started the debate when he answered a McCain post. She praised the 19-year-old McNabb as “incredibly smart, strong and brave” when Cohen suggested that the teenager be “villifying” transgender people.

“Surprised You buy into the destruction of the trans community given the real problems that happen in this country, your former allied ship of the LGBTQ community, and the fact that this non-question affects about four people in this country,” Cohen wrote in a post.

McNabb then responded to Cohen’s attack on McCain and called his comments “actually wrong.”

“Andy, calling the protection of women’s sports a ‘non-issue’ that affects ‘four people’ is not just dismissive-it is actually wrong. Hundreds of female athletes have lost podium places, scholarships and opportunities. My own injury was life-changing.

Cohen then responded to McNabb and admitted that his original response was based on only one piece of data provided by NCAA President Charlie Baker in December.

“The NCAA president testified under the oath of over 500,000 students athletes, he is aware of fewer than 10 Trans members. This is where I got my information,” Cohen wrote, referring to Baker’s statistics delivered during a congressional hearing on December 17.

Cohen did not explain the athletes affected at the high school level or at other levels of competition. Cohen has not responded since the last post at the time of publication.

His exchange with McCain and McNabb quickly became viral on Tuesday night as many stood up hard criticizing the Bravo personality for his criticism on a post intended to celebrate the 19-year-old.

McCain answered and invited Cohen to a more in -depth conversation about the question while giving the host more clarity about McNabb’s situation.

“Surprised that you are okay with violence against female athletes. Peyton suffered severe brain damage – just a story. You have my cell, always happy to speak privately or publicly about one of our shows because these conversations are reductive to hashish out on social media,” McCain wrote.

McNabb suffered significant and long -term physical and mental injuries in 2022, when she was spiked in the face of a transient athlete who was able to compete for a girls team because of a policy introduced by North Carolina’s High School Athletic Association.

McNabb was then unable to compete during her last volleyball season, claiming her performance in Softball was significantly hampered by her injuries.

McNabb participates in President Donald Trump’s joint address on Tuesday night, just one day after the Senate Democrats blocked a bill that would have banned trans -athletes to compete in women’s and girls’ sporting nationwide.
