The incident took place in the third quarter after Kelce continued To block after the whistle was blown up. Pie seemed to beat Kelce with an open mocked stroke in retaliation.
“I guess it’s open fist, no matter what, I don’t know. I mean, I don’t know what their decision was on it. But he was definitely hit in his head pretty hard, whether it was an open fist or a closed fist,” Reid continued.

According to the NFL rulebook, an open hand strike is illegal but does not require a mandate disqualification. A closed fist punch would require automatic incompatibility.
Reid was asked if he had received clarity from the league about the decision.
“Yes, I want to work it out with the league.”
