Angel Reese gets the advice of Lisa Leslie on how her games can improve

Lisa Leslie, a three-time WNBA MVP, directed some blunt advice at Angel Reese during a recent Sitdown with Chicago Sky Forward.

Leslie joined Reese for the latest edition of the podcast “Unapologetically Angel”. At one point during the conversation, the WNBA legend answered a question of which part of 2024 All-Star’s games she could improve on her way into season two.

“The greatest advice I have for you will be how you shoot your layups, period. We will solve it. It can be corrected for you,” replied Leslie.

The two-time WNBA champion then pointed out some of Reese’s forces when she is on the hardwood.

“I think your outside shot improves. I love that your ball handling is good, your defense improves. I love the fact that you were like putting so much pressure on them defensively. And just the idea you will get better .

Leslie continued to praise Reese’s willingness to put the work in, which she believes will eventually allow Sky Star to reach her full potential.

“To hear you, and like … yes ‘I want to learn. I want to work hard. I want to be better,’ my heart melted.” Leslie added. “The fact that you already have that attitude you will get better. And I can help you get better. I’m positive.”

Reese delivered a memorable Rookie WNBA season when she broke several league registers. The former LSU standout ended 15 consecutive matches with a double-double, marking the longest strip of games that a player achieved the bang in the corpse story.

Reese’s scoring efficiency in the paint came under some control, with the sky making 42.2% of her layup attempts last season.

Reese average 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per Match in 2024. Her total field target percentage accounted for 39.1% last season.

The sky ended the campaign in 2024 with a 13-27 record and could not qualify for the WNBA autumn period. The franchise parted ways with Teresa WeatherSpoon and later appointed Tyler Marsh as the team’s next head coach.

In a clip that was sent to her podcast’s instagram, Reese Weatherpoon’s dismissal said her “heart bridle”.
