Angel Reese posts almost triple in Sky’s victory over Sparks

Chicago Sky came back to win on Sunday, and Angel Reese’s big day on both sides of the ball was a main reason behind the 92-85 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.

Reese was close to a triple-double after supporting 24 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists over her 38 minutes on the field for Chicago.

Reese led Wnba in rebounds that came into this game (12.3), and she noted another game with at least 16 rebounds and marked four straight matches that did.

This is also Reese’s fourth equal double-double and her 36. In her first 50 career games.

It was a season high with 24 points due to an effective day shooting when Reese went 10-of-19 off the field while knocking down on all four of her free throwing attempts. Then on the defensive end, Reese added two blocks and a steal for the sky.

But it was not only Reese who put work in this high scoring game. Guard Ariel Atkins went 7-AF-12 from the field to add 20 points, while Rachel Banham (13 points, four assists) and Elizabeth Williams (12 points, nine rebounds, three stealing) also handled business among the five starting.

From the bench, the Kia nurse knocked down three-point attempts to add her 14 points.

For the sparks, the Star Point Guard Kelsey Plum struggled from the field, though she paid from the charity stripe, where she went 12-for-12 there.

However, she went 4-of-16 shooting, including 2-of-9 from three-point land to 22 points. She also had seven assists and five rebounds.

Dearica Hamby added a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Azura Stevens collected 17 points, six rebounds and four assists.
