- A privacy of personal information appears on some Samsung -TVs every few hours
- It does not appear to be possible to disable fully from the TV
- But it may be possible if you log in to Samsung’s website
Do you have a Samsung TV if pop-up doesn’t stop? You might not be the only one. Samsung owners have sent us e-mail and posted on forums about a special sustained pop-up message that continues to emerge-but the good news is that there may be a simple solution.
The message is about Samsung’s privacy policy that collects user data, and many Samsung owners will have seen them; I’m one of them – even though mine never came back after the first view. But for some users, pop-up returns to return; One of the affected owners told us that it is emerging every few hours sporing with what people say online. But no one seems to be able to find an option on the TVs to disable it.
The special customer who contacted us also contacted Samsung Support and was told by a representative that there was no solution. But other Samsung owners ask to be different.
How to Solve Samsung Privacy Pop-Up Problem
The problem does not seem to affect a large number of people, which may be why Samsung Support Rep did not know how to get rid of it. But it obviously affects some people across several models – we are aware that the problem is happening on the Samsung S90C and QN90B – in some countries, including the United States, and they have laid out to places like Reddit and to the Samsung Community – Web site. And that is the latter place where we may have found the solution.
A pop-up plague poster said they got rid of the message by logging in to their Samsung account on the company’s website and clicking on privacy updates. “It stopped the message from appearing on my TV,” they say.
If it doesn’t work for you, there’s something else to try in the short term: This post on the Samsung Community -Web site talks about how annoying the message is: “In the last 2 days I’ve got an extremely annoying popup review with little ding sound. This pops up every 2 hours and disappears in 5 seconds.”
Their solution was not ideal, but it seemed to work: by blocking internet access from the TV so it has local network access but not wide network access, the pop-up stops appear. But it is only convenient if you use a streamingness as a Chromecast or Apple TV 4K to deliver things to your TV; Of course, if you use the built -in smart apps, they should be online.
Based the fact that this appeared on my TV and disappeared forever, it is very similar to a software update that Gremlin has got this message firmly on a loop instead of finding its way into the ether once it was shown.
We contacted Samsung, who said it was looking at the problem on our reader’s behalf, but was unable to provide more information at the time of publication. We will update this story with official info when we get it.
