- Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared a list of devices he expects to look at the upcoming Apple event
- These include the iPhone 17 Series, AirPods Pro 3 and Apple Watch Ultra 3
- Apple’s “AWE DROPPING” event is scheduled for September 9
It’s almost time for the next Apple event -Tech Giant’s next keynote speaker, titled “Awe Dropping”, will take place on September 9 and will almost certainly bring official messages to iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, as well as several other new Apple products.
At the forefront of the event, Bloomberg’s resident Apple expert Mark Gurman has compiled a list of each new device we expect to see advertised, from the new iPhones to update Apple Watches to the long rumored AirPods Pro 3.
As Keen Techradar readers may know, Mark Gurman is one of the most reliable and reliable tipsters in the tech industry -while his predictions are still very much based on rumors, they have as much weight as unconfirmed information can.
Gurman’s list includes referrals to widely reported rumors as well as some surprises. Continue reading for a full breakdown.
iPhone 17
Apple always releases its new iPhone series in September, so it almost says we will see the iPhone 17 and its variants are revealed by the “AWE dropping” key.
Gurman suggests that this year’s Basic Model iPhone has a larger 6.3-inch promotion display rather than the static 120Hz screen previously rumored. This would give the standard iPhone 17 the same screen as the iPhone 17 Pro, which would be a major feature of how slow Apple has been to give its standard flagship modern display -tech.
The list also suggests a new, faster A19 chipset, which is in line with our expectations.
iPhone 17 Air
As we have reported before, Apple is expected to replace the iPhone 16 Plus with a new thinner and lighter iPhone 17 air, with a new design, single rear camera and worse battery life.
Gurman adds that the iPhone 17 air could have a 6.6-inch screen, easily reduced from the 6.7-inch screen on the iPhone 16 Plus. He also suggests that the iPhone 17 air could get the Apple C1 modem, while the other iPhone 17 models will stick to Qualcomm chips for wifi and cellular connection.
We can also see an iPhone 4-style bumper box for iPhone 17 Air, which seems like a sensible accessory for a phone that is focused on thinness.
iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max has been the subject of much discussion in the months so far as several rumors, leaked images and tipoffs have suggested that Apple’s highest end handset is in a larger redesign, with a Google Pixel-style bare-shaped camera house and two-tone back panel.
Gurman’s list confirms the new camera bushes, but not the two-tone panel, which only suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will ditch the titanium chassis first viewed on the iPhone 15 Pro for aluminum. Internally, we are likely to see a new A19 Pro chipset with services upgrades, and Gurman also suggests battery life.
And as we have reported before, other rumors point to some lovely camera upgrades to this year’s Pro -iphones. Gurman suggests that a 48MP camera is actually on the way, and surprisingly mentions a variable aperture for the main camera, which we thought would come with next year’s iPhone 18 Pro.
Other surprising camera suggestions from Gurman also include recording with the front and rear camera (a feature Android has boasted for a while), and the “largest ever upgrade” to the selfie camera that has been stuck at 12MP for years.
Apple Watch Ultra 3
If current rumors are something to pass by, it’s destined to be a big year for the Apple Watch family. As we expected, Gurman suggests that we see a new Apple Watch Ultra this year with a screen of the same size as the Apple Watch Series 10 (although it is not clear whether this means 42 mm or 46 mm).
Other new features for the Apple Watch Ultra 3 could include a new S11 chipset, the possibility of using satellite networks for calls and texts and 5G Redcap connection.

Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch View
As for Apple’s everyday smartwatches, we expect September 9 to bring messages to the Apple Watch Series 11 and a revised Apple Watch SE.
Gurman does not offer too much insight into the Apple Watch series 11. Apart from a brighter screen, we expect the series 11 to look the same as last year’s series 10, with new colors and bracelets to choose from.
As for Apple Watch SE, Gurman suggests that a new look, new display and faster chip could be on the way. As our Apple Watch see 3-hub tells, Gurman previously suggested that a more ‘kid-friendly’ look could be on the way for the Apple Watch SE as Apple is about to target the younger audience with the cheapest laptop.
AirPods Pro 3
It seems that we will see AirPods Pro 3 revealed on September 9 – which we have reported before, detailed leaks regarding dimensions and mating technology have been floating around for a while, and there are even some claims that the new wireless earplugs come with heartbeat and temperature tracking.
Gurman also mentions the rumors of heart rate sensor, but only says Apple has tested the feature. He is more confident in AI and suggests that AirPods Pro 3 will be able to translate conversations between two different languages in real time.
It is also suggested that the charging case will be much smaller than the AirPods Pro 2, although it is not as AirPods has ever been too bulky.
These are all the predictions of this year’s Apple events in September Apple Event. Gurman mentions a list of other devices caused by an update “soon” but does not give any possible release dates: These include Vision Pro, iPad Pro M5, Airtag 2, Apple TV and HomePod Mini.
