National Accountability Bureau (NAB) released record figures for the second quarter of 2025, recovering the RS456.3 billion-nest five times more than RS91 billion recovered in the first quarter marked a significant leap in its anti-corruption effort, Associated Press of Pakistan (App) reported Saturday.
With this, the total recovery in the first half of the year has reached RS547.31 billion. A Nab spokesman stated that a significant part of this amount – assets worth over RS532 billion – has been handed over to the government.
“In addition to only statistics, these recovery reflects real progress in holding corrupt elements responsible and returning to the state,” the spokesman said. “Thousands of victims who were deceived in different scams have also been compensated.”

According to a press release from Nab, moving and real estate is valuable RS532.33 billion, paid between federal and provincial government institutions as well as economic bodies.
So far, more than 12,000 people affected by public fraud schemes have received financial refund. The Bureau’s total recovery in the last two years is now on RS5.85 trillion – over seven times the amount it had recovered since the start in 1999.
“This is not just a number. It represents our team’s extraordinary efforts across the country,” the spokesman added. “We are determined to continue this momentum.”
Among high profiled recovery, Nab Rawalpindi picked up state land to a value of RS29 billion in Islamabad’s sector E-11, which was handed over to Capital Development Authority. In B4U -Fidus, RS3 billion was recovered and is set to be distributed between more than 17,000 influences, with a further RS4 billion expected in the current quarter.
Nab also facilitated the transfer of land under a housing arrangement to ensure long -awaited compensation for investors. In another case, Nab Succur land regained land worth over RS25 billion, previously contained by private units, marking a significant success in the effort to recover public assets.

The Bureau reported that forest area worth RS384 billion was recovered in the second quarter alone, which brought the total value of such recovery to over RS1.48 trillion. In Lahore, RS3.2 billion was paid to nearly 12,000 victims in the Eden Case. In Pak -Arabic case, eight properties worth RS3.9 billion were currently surrendered and is currently being treated for transfer.
Separately, a plea negotiation of RS2,18 billion while negotiating with the owners of the Elite Town Housing Society. The proceeds are intended for distribution among approx. 1,800 influences.
Looking ahead, Nab has shifted its focus to the recovery of the procedure of state land. In collaboration with provincial income departments, the agency has identified illegally occupied properties that are estimated to be worth almost RS5 trillion.
“Nab is unshakable in his mission to recover any last rupe of national wealth and bring justice to those who have plundered public funds,” the spokesman said. “Our actions speak for themselves, and the numbers reflect a broader drive for accountability and reform.”
The Bureau has called on all stakeholders, including public institutions and civil society, to support its efforts to transparency and good governance.
