Apex Court takes Imran’s Bail Care Today

Islamabad:

The Supreme Court postponed until Wednesday (today) the consultation of bail petitions filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan in eight different cases May 9.

When Imran’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, came to Rostrum on Tuesday, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, who heads the three-member bench that heard the case, noticed that both sides had submitted documents that the bench needed to investigate.

Safdar said he also wanted to deage the judge handed down by various courts against terrorism in May 9 cases. CJP Afridi said which party wanted to submit documents to do so quickly as it was necessary to review the documents.

The prosecution was also required to review the documents submitted by the defendants. The court then postponed the hearing until 1 p.m. 10.30 am today.

A Division Bench from Lahore High Court (LHC) led by Justice Shahbaz Ali Rizvi on June 24, Imran Khan’s bail applications rejected in eight different May 9 -rebellion cases.

In his order, LHC declared that the former prime minister was involved in hatching a conspiracy to attack military installations in the event of his possible arrest, as two police officers had given testimony to this.

The PTI founder contested the order in the Supreme Court, whose bench with three members led by CJP Afridi consisting of Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb took the case on July 29.
