- An AirPods Pro 3 -tip has just been viewed in some Apple code
- This follows rumors of ANC boosts and possibly heart rate monitoring
- AirPods Pro 3 could come this year but there is no solid release date yet
Apple’s AirPods Pro are some of the best earphones you can buy, with great sound and has packed up in a small product. If you have hoped for Apple to release an AirPods Pro 3 update this year, you are lucky as it seems that the company may be working on just such a device.
Interestingly, this idea did not come from a well-connected analyst or a bit of lucky guesswork coming from Apple himself. It seems that the company may have accidentally leaked AirPods Pro 3 in its own software code, as discovered by Eagle-Eyed Researcher Aaron Perris.
According to Perris, Apple has updated a text string with info that suggests future AirPods. The text has previously read “Requires Apple AirPods Pro 2. Generation” – now it stands “requires Apple AirPods Pro 2 or newer.” However, it is not clear which app or software this string is displayed in.
You may think this is a simple update to explain Apple’s AirPods 4, which was launched after AirPods Pro 2 .. Nevertheless, Perris claims there was already a separate text string for AirPods 4 in the software. It suggests that the quoted information may refer to a yet non-unknown set of AirPods Pro, although we cannot be safe.
When can we see AirPods Pro 3?
Right now, there is no solid information about when AirPods Pro 3 may be announced. Apple has not given any indication of when the launch date may occur, so most information you want to see at the moment is speculation.
The fact that Apple has apparently made the update discovered by Perris could suggest that AirPods Pro 3 will land before rather than later – after all, the change may be part of the preparations that the company is doing to release the headphones. Although it is just presumption at this time, a release date of 2025 would make sense, considering that it will be three years after the AirPods Pro 2 update.
So far, the AirPods Pro 3 has been joined by a new design, an updated chip and “much better” noise dumping. We would also like to see the ability to connect to multiple cross platforms (including Android phones) as current AirPods are limited to Apple products.
With Apple’s WWDC 2025 conference less than a month away, the event may be an ideal time for Apple to reveal AirPods Pro 3 for the world. Keep your eyes peeled.
