- IPhone 17 could only go eSIM in several countries
- Changes Tipes to Apple Clear Case accessories
- The launch is scheduled for Tuesday 9th September
Apple will almost certainly make the iPhone 17 official on Tuesday, September 9, but as we count the days of the big launch event, the leaks continue – including fresh rumors around eSIMs and the official Apple Clear case.
Current iPhone models are only eSIM in the United States, and according to a source that speaks to macumors, retail employees at Apple are authorized in the EU now asked to prepare to handle iPhones without physical SIM cards.
With eSIMs that offer better security and more convenience, the move is not really much of a surprise. Google has now gone ESIM-Kun for the first time with the new Google Pixel 10 Series, but for now this only applies to phones sold in the US.
New iPhones, new cases

The other iPhone 17 leakage, which makes the rounds today, relates to the iPhone 17 Pro Clear case with Magsafe -one of the official cases that Apple is expected to launch for the new handset (and which it already offers to the iPhone 16 Pro).
According to images submitted by Tipsters @majinbuofficial and @Sonnydickson, there will be some adjustments to the design. Less of the case will be transparent, with a panel covering most of the back of the phone and hiding the Magsafe connectors.
We can also see that there is a larger cut to the cameras at the top and back up the leaked reproductions we have seen from redesigned on this phone. The Apple logo is also changed, so it is in the middle of the room under the cameras.
It also looks like the case will support the new crossbody strap accessories that have been rumored, which allows you to carry your iPhone with a magnetic lanyard. In just over a week we know for sure what Apple has been working on.
